Akak'stiman: A Blackfoot Framework for Decision-Making and Mediation Processes by Reg Crowshoe,
Reg Crowshoe alberta health and wellness and Sybille Manneschmidt examine the two health structures that co-exist on the Peigan reserve in southern Alberta; one based on traditional Blackfoot culture, the other on Western European theories of health alberta health and wellness and healing. Both are practiced on the reserve today, yet only the western approach is acknowledged alberta health and wellness and endorsed by the Canadian government.
